Talk Togethr
Where the heart of the people meets the pulse of the community
Talk Togethr is a midday talk show that will be broadcasted live bimonthly to Facebook and YouTube. Hosted by 3 personalities and featuring 1 special guest, the show aims to explore LGBT+ life and culture with a unique approach to addressing health and wellness. Each featured guest will come from a background or profession within health and human services to bring a unique perspective to the conversation. The focus remains creating solutions to reduce HIV/ AIDS stigma. Talk Togethr’s program goal is to educate and speak candidly about our experiences as Black and Brown LGBT+ individuals who are living with or impacted by HIV/AIDS and the world around us. Meet The Hosts
Rhiannon Chester-Bey
Rhiannon “Rhi” Chester-Bey is a cultural visual artist, writer, racial equity educator, and healing arts practitioner born, raised, and educated in and by Detroit. As a young, curious spirit guided by intuition, Rhi began to question systems, develop an analysis of the impacts on the soul of people and look for ways to live fully in her own humanity as a means to embody permission for others to do the same. This spirit and questioning have taken Rhi on a journey that has many faces but is consistently rooted in personal and communal healing and sharing gifts. She is a longtime activist, advocate, and contributor in the Detroit social justice ecosystem.
She currently serves as the Fellowship Manager for the Detroit Equity Action Lab (DEAL) at the Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights - Wayne State Law School where she helps to build the capacity of leaders to end structural racism in Detroit. She offers reiki energy healing, intuitive coaching, herbal products, and healing-centered facilitation through her company Undercurrent Healing Arts.
Stoyan
Francis
Equity, inclusiveness, and diversity are concepts that Stoyan Francis has continuously dedicated her life to. Stoyan’s work has granted her access to navigate various spaces, national conferences and universities to speak on how differences can be used as a source of celebration and not a tool for segregation. Some of her speaking engagements have included The National LGBT Taskforce Creating Change conference, UC Berkeley’s Empowering Womxn Conference, The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom and UC-Riverside’s Blaqout conference. She has gained a rich history of educational outreach with various cultural nonprofits; LGBT Detroit, Wayne County SAFE and Sasha Center. Within her experience of educational outreach, she has trained and empowered undergraduate students from top universities in Michigan & California with best diversity & inclusion practices for social change. She balances out her history with 4 years of working in Silicon Valley and developing/ driving corporate initiatives and strategies for diversity.
Siaire
Reign
Siaire Reign (she/her) has been “gayin’” since Queen Latifah graced the big screen rocking stud braids and mechanic overalls in the cult classic, “Set It Off,”. She is an entrepreneur and the founder of the upcoming Black Queer Search, a national directory of Black queer businesses, and Black Queer Social, a social networking organization cultivating and nurturing Black queer community. Curating intentional spaces where Black queer folks are encouraged to “keke'' elevate, connect, heal and vibe, is her jam! In her spare time, she enjoys jogging with and preparing elaborate meals for her pitbull, Shugg Avery, being shamelessly carried by her Spades partners at impromptu game nights, and sipping on spicy jalapeño margaritas while tearing up the dance floor. Siaire is now bringing her charisma and love of the community to co-hosting Talk Togethr.
