Dearest Friends of LGBT Detroit,
The holidays are a special time when families gather to celebrate and fellowship, when living rooms are illuminated with Christmas lights, menorahs, and Kwanzaa candles. We are extremely blessed and grateful to have you as an important and special member of the LGBT Detroit family.
While we enjoy the good cheer of the season, we remember that this can also be a difficult time for some who are lesbian, gay, bi, transgender or queer. That happy family scenario is not a reality for them, and that’s where YOU come in.
LGBT Detroit is that space where the LGBTQ+ community connects, shares, and feels safe to be themselves, and feels brave enough to face the people and systems that reject them. In the holiday spirit, I ask you to consider making a gift to LGBT Detroit so that we continue to provide and expand services in our new newly acquired Safe, Brave Space.
Educational services that help cancer survivors, persons who endured sexual assault and young people impacted and infected with HIV are but a few of the focuses which we address. These efforts are important and your donation changes and enriches the lives of those who need them. More than just assisting others, the Safe, Brave Space is where we celebrate one another, lift up one another, and be family.
With you, we can grow our family and invite those who feel disconnected, in need of respite, education, counseling; a family. Your generous tax-deductible gift of $20, $50, $100, or $500 will be the important boost we need to carry on our mission.
Please note that donations must be made by the end of the tax year for which you want to claim the deduction. This means that if your check is dated and placed in the mail by end of day on December 31, you'll be OK.
2019 will be an incredible year ... because of you.
Thank you so very much for your belief in our mission.
